Whose ambition is it?
Much of what we chase was handed to us before we could examine it. Ask, of each option here, whether you would still want it if nobody ever knew.
What can you do all day?
Every profession looks attractive from outside. Look instead at its ordinary Tuesday — the meetings, the waiting, the repetition — and see if you can love that.
What does it cost?
Some doors take a decade to open and cannot be walked back through. Count the years honestly before you spend them.
